Baken Football Team

Kampala, Uganda

Recently the founder visited Uganda, he was chatting to a cousin of his about the community football team the cousin started last year during covid.  The cousin drove around Kampala, scouting an adult and under 17s squad to join to respected teams.  The football club is called Baken, which is name after the Nile Elephant, strong and courageous, this majestic animal is the ideal name to describe the team as it is already ingrained in the BRND & Co’s philosophy.  They immediately seen the connection.  At the moment they are in the fourth division but are destined for the Top Flight League in Uganda.  These men and teenagers were found playing football in back streets with their friends.  The talent was seen and they were invited to come and play for Baken F.C.  Winning games against 3rd division teams 5-2 in the first year.

What an amazing thing their cousin has started, supporting the adults and kids to unlock the talent they hold.  Most of their had not even put on a pair of boots until they were signed to Baken and even then, it has taken a lot of work to bring donations of old boots in.  Imagine!  For most of us that is unthinkable.  The founder recalls his mates were in boots from the age of 10 or even younger.  So we thought we could help them out by asking all of you to support the team along their journey to the top.  Do you think you can help them by donating your old equipment?  They require equipment like balls, football boots, bibs, shin pads, goalie gloves and pretty much everything else used in the game of football.  Full list below.

BRND & Co. have a beautiful gallery, showcasing both them team where they play.  The kids themselves and the upcoming kits.  The talent they have is not to be missed and we want to show everyone through the power of social media/YouTube.  But at the moment the only camera they have to take photos is on an old phone.  Do you have any cameras lying around, collecting dust?  Well they can make use of these and you can see the results for yourself by following them on social media.
